What is MHScales?

This site makes it easy for clinicians to use mental health rating scales with their patients. Patients can also fill out scales on their own and then share the results.

For Clinicians

MHScales can help make using scales with your patients easier. Find out how.

For Patients

Mental health scales are used by doctors, psychologists, and other clinicians to measure the severity of symptoms associated with conditions like depression and anxiety.

You can also use them on your own to track your symptoms or see if you have symptoms associated with certain illnesses. But you can't diagnose yourself from a scale!

Scales can help you be a more active, informed and empowered participant in your own mental health care, but need to be interpreted by qualified professionals. There's a lot more that goes into a diagnosis...

Your Mental Health Repair Manual

You might show your doctor the results of a scale to explain why you're concerned about something, but let them take it from there.

To learn more about mental health and the many ways you can actively and productively contribute to your care, check out the extensive guide I co-authored, which you can read for free online.

And for #%!@'s sake, don't even think about adjusting medication or other treatment based solely on a quiz you took on the internet!

About Us

This site is developed and operated by Mark Roseman. It's been used extensively with patients in his wife's psychiatry practice. We've both found it very useful and I'm more than happy to share with others. Let me know what you think!

Privacy and Security

We follow industry standards including use of encrypted communication, strict access controls, and limit the amount of personally identifiable information collected and (especially) attached to completed scales.

Server infrastructure is located in Canada. Standard server-side logs are kept for debugging purposes but we do not subscribe to any off-site tracking services, e.g. Google Analytics.

Beta Testing

MHScales is not yet intended for widespread public use.

There may be unexpected changes, brief periods of downtime, and the occasional glitch. It's highly unlikely that any data would be lost, though not impossible.

With that in mind, if you'd like to use it now, you're welcome to. 😃
